Every year, in the First Lego League community, each team has to design a project related to the year's topic. This year the topic is "Trash Trek", and we decided to design a project reducing food waste.
We chose this topic since it is a big problem in our world today. Every day about $2,300 worth of food is tossed out before its expiration date. There are many ways to reduce food waste to help reduce food waste. Some ways are to offer to serve smaller portions at restaurants, since no one usually finishes huge portions, and donating the excess food instead of tossing it out.
